Imaginary friends

In the series entitled Doppelgänger , the French photographer Julie De Waroquier gives us an intimate and profound journey into the world of people who have an imaginary friend. The project is a real story in images, which narrates the manifestation of this imaginative disorder which is often associated with great internal pain and profound loneliness. The protagonist is a young red-haired woman who lives, plays, makes up and then says goodbye forever to her imaginary twin. The shots are all still and suspended in time, in an unreal and gothic place that plays on shades of red and blue, to lead us on tiptoe into this delicate story.
