How do you imagine the happiest house in the world? For us it should resemble the Rizzi House in Brunswick, Germany, created by pop artist James Rizzi together with architect Konrad Klosterun. The building appears clearly inspired by the world of comics and is a masterpiece of creative architecture. Made up of irregular shapes, the unusual building features bizarre faces and 80s psychedelic colors ranging from pink to yellow and light blue . Consisting of nine blocks in total, it was built in 3 years and was an eyesore for the inhabitants. Not everyone, in fact, appreciated this decidedly innovative style distant from both historic European architecture and the modern constructions of the time. Over the years, however, "The Happy Rizzi House" has become loved: people have become accustomed to its shapes and colours, having a positive impact on the tourist fortunes of the city: it is no coincidence, in fact, that numerous world magazines have included the building among the most beautiful buildings in Germany and the world! |
